PIFF 2022: Prasad Namjoshi and Sagar Vanjari's Institute Of Pavtology to be premiered at Pune festival

The satirical drama, starring veterans Girish Kulkarni and Sayaji Shinde, will be showcased in the festival's Marathi Cinema Today section.

Prasad Namjoshi and Sagar Vanjari's satirical drama Institute Of Pavtology is set to have its world premiere at the 20th Pune International Film Festival (PIFF). The film is part of the festival's Marathi Cinema Today section.

The film, starring Girish Kulkarni and Sayaji Shinde, is based on environmentalist and writer Santosh Shintre's short story. This is the first time Kulkarni and Shinde will be seen together on screen.

Namjoshi has earlier directed the critically acclaimed film Rangaa Patangaa (2016) while Sagar Vanjari made the acclaimed Redu (2018). Besides directing Institute Of Pavtology, Namjoshi wrote the screenplay and dialogues.

The director duo is ecstatic that Institute Of Pavtology will have its world premiere at PIFF. "We have been working on this film for the past two years," Manjoshi and Vanjari said in a joint statement. "We are glad that through the Pune International Film Festival of India we have got the opportunity to finally show our hard work to the audience. Making a film on such a unique subject was definitely a tough task, but we have pulled it off."

Besides veterans Kulkarni and Shinde, the film's ensemble cast includes Parth Bhalerao, Sandeep Pathak, Deepti Devi and Devendra Gaikwad. Girish Jambhalikar has handled the camera while Vijay Gawande has composed the songs and the background score.

Institute Of Pavtology has been produced by Blink Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd and Abhishikta Infotainments Pvt Ltd and is presented by Fatmaar Films Productions.
