Neeraj Pandey’s next production, Operation Romeo, is about moral policing; see motion poster

Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia’s Friday Filmworks banner is known for its action and espionage films and web-series. But its next production, Operation Romeo, is based on the social issue of moral policing of young people in love.

Jointly produced with Reliance Entertainment, Operation Romeo is directed by Shashant Shah and stars Sidhant Gupta and Vedika Pinto along with Sharad Kelkar, Kishor Kadam and Bhumika Chawla.

The motion poster for Operation Romeo, which is out now, shows Gupta and Pinto sharing an intimate moment at a public place while Kelkar and Kadam look on disapprovingly. Soon, some onlookers start clicking pictures of the couple on their mobile phones.

We also see a worried-looking Bhumika Chawla. She might be playing mother to either Gupta's or Pinto's character.

Operation Romeo is Gupta’s third film after Badmashiyaan (2015) and Bhoomi (2017). He is known more for his work in the television serial Tashan-e-Ishq and has appeared in the third season of the Amazon Prime Video web-series Inside Edge (2021). Vedika Pinto is making her debut.

Director Shashant Shah made his debut with the acclaimed Vinay Pathak-starrer Dasvidaniya (2008) and then directed a few other films. He has also directed some web-series with his latest being the second season of Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare (2021).

Operation Romeo will be released in theatres on 22 April.
