Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s next Bawaal

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor have been paired together for the first time for writer-director Nitesh Tiwari’s next film, Bawaal (2023).

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is due to be released on 7 April 2023.

Nadiadwala and Tiwari had collaborated on the National award-winning film Chhichhore (2019).

The announcement was made earlier today.

Dhawan, last seen in Coolie No 1 (2020) which was released directly on Amazon Prime Video, also has the films Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022) and Bhediya (2022) awaiting release later this year.

Kapoor, meanwhile, has the films Good Luck Jerry, Mr and Mrs Mahi and Mili in the pipeline.

After the success of Chhichhore, Tiwari produced and co-directed the Zee5 docu-series Break Point (2021) with his wife, filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. He also wrote the story for the segment on the Netflix anthology Ankahi Kahaniya (2021) directed by Iyer.

The subject of Bawaal has still not been revealed by the makers. The Hindi film is expected to go on the floors soon.
