Jaggi (Jaideep Ahlawat) and Daljeet Grover (Zeeshan Ayyub) are brothers who are like chalk and cheese. Jaggi is intimidating while Daljeet is meek, and when they accidentally run over an old man (Asrani) one night, they both have different ways of handling it.
Daljeet wants to confess, while Jaggi has put the incident out of his mind already. A wallet dropped mistakenly at the man’s house throws them right in the middle of his affairs. Add a grieving niece Sophie (Tina Desai), an inept private detective Dushyant (Jitendra Joshi) and a gangster Don Handa (Satish Kaushik) and the plot thickens.
It seems doubtful that the Grover brothers’ secret will remain hidden for long. Both actors who play brothers have set up their dynamic well.
The upcoming series, whose tone goes from dramatic to comic, also stars Maya Alagh as Sheila, Shruti Seth as Priya Grover and Mugdha Godse as Tanya.
Produced by Applause Entertainment and BBC Studios India, the Zee5 series is an official adaptation of the BBC show Guilt. Directed by Shaad Ali, the show has been filmed in Ooty, Tamil Nadu.
Bloody Brothers is due to be premiered on 18 March on the holiday of Holi.
