Fukrey 3, which has been delayed multiple times because of the COVID-19 pandemic, has finally gone on the floors.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, this is the third film in the successful comedy franchise.
The news was shared by one of the cast members of the film, Varun Sharma, on Instagram.
He put up a picture of the clapperboard and wrote, “Shuru ho gayi!! [It has begun] Jai Mata Di.”
Produced under the banner of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, the film has an ensemble cast, which comprises Sharma, Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh and Pankaj Tripathi.
These actors have been a part of the franchise right from the first film.
Fukrey 3 was earlier to go on floors in April 2021 but the project was impacted by the second wave of COVID-19.
In an exclusive interview with Cinestaan.com, Chadha had said last year that their responsibility towards this film had increased after the success of Fukrey (2013) and Fukrey Returns (2017). “Our responsibilities have increased for the Fukrey franchise now. The film is also liked by children. After the cartoon series Fukrey Boys was released, kids have started liking it even more. We wish to work with a lot of responsibility,” she had said.
