Announced in 2019, the film features Ranveer Singh in the role of a Gujarati character with a social purpose. The film was initially scheduled for release on 2 October 2020. The date was then pushed to 27 August 2021 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later rescheduled for release on 25 February 2022, which has now been changed again.
The announcement video features Ranveer Singh exhibiting his quirkiness in full as he plays every hero trope, from cowboy to superhero with even a take on Batman and the more recent phenomenon of Pushpa: The Rise (2021). The actor then points out that his film celebrates a different type of hero.
Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run.
