Marathi actor Sandeep Pathak has bagged the Best Actor award at the Couch Film Festival Spring 2022 for his performance in the upcoming silent movie Raakh.
Pathak, who is known for mostly playing comic roles in films and TV shows, portrays a serious character in this film.
He shared the news that he had bagged the Best Actor award with his fans on social media.
Expressing his feelings after receiving the award at the international festival, Pathak said, "Though I have received this award, it is not for me alone. This is the result of the hard work of the entire team of Raakh. My character in this film is very different from the roles I have played so far, so the joy of receiving this award is very different."
Raakh is a special film for another reason. It is only the second time Marathi cinema has made a silent film after the silent era ended 90 years ago. Interestingly, the previous one, Tathastu (2016), a telefilm, also starred Pathak.
Raakh is directed by Rajesh Chavan, who is a co-producer of the film along with Yogesh Golatkar and Kunal Prabhu. The film's camerawork has been handled by Ramesh Shelke while Prabhu has done the editing. Piyush Kanojiya has composed the music and the art direction is by Raju Sapte.
