Jr NTR calls RRR a landmark movie, thanks Rajamouli and cast


In the period epic, the actor plays Komaram Bheem, the protector of a tribe.

Jr NTR on Tuesday took to Twitter to share a heartfelt note in which he thanked everyone who worked on making RRR one of the most celebrated Indian movies of all time. He went on to call the period epic a landmark film in his career. 

In the movie, Jr NTR plays Komaram Bheem, the protector of a tribe.

“All of you heaped praises on RRR and showered us with love since the film’s release. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who made RRR, a landmark film in my career, possible,” the actor said. 

Thanking SS Rajamouli, who is known as Jakkanna in the Telugu industry, the artiste said, “Thank you for inspiring me to give my best. You truly brought out the best in me and made me feel like water, versatile. You pushed me as an actor and made me mould into my character and all his layers with great ease and conviction (sic).” 

Talking about his co-star Ram Charan, Tarak wrote: “Charan, my brother, I can’t imagine acting in RRR without you. No one else could’ve done justice to the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju. Not only RRR but Bheem would be incomplete without you. Thank you for being the fire to my water.”

On sharing screen space with Ajay Devgn, the actor, who is also known as Tarak, said: “I will cherish this memory forever.” 

Jr NTR called Alia Bhatt, who played the character of Sita in the movie, a powerhouse who added incredible strength to the film with her presence. 

The film, which has been made on a budget of over Rs300 crore, had a grand release on 25 March in cinemas and has already grossed over Rs500 crore worldwide. 

RRR is a fictional story set in the 1920s and is based on the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.  

The film is Rajamouli’s first full-length period film.
