'Rocking star' Yash's Rocky Bhai is back to break a few more bones in KGF: Chapter 2 (2022).
The trailer, which was released yesterday at a grand event, promises an even more grand spectacle of violence than in the first film.
The trailer, which is almost three minutes long, has the same raw and rustic tone as KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) along with the trademark brown and blackish-grey colour palette which we saw in the first film. But it is hyped here by a factor of 10.
The visual aesthetic and the colour palette give off that vibe of post-apocalyptic movies like Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). The bright and shiny colours that stand out in this otherwise grey sepia background make the visuals even more arresting.
Surprisingly, despite its runtime the trailer does not reveal much about the actual plot. It begins with the entry of the most awaited villain, Sanjay Dutt's Adheera. He was mentioned in the first film, but this is the first time we see him on screen. And from the first frame, Dutt looks menacing. His Adheera wants to take over the KGF gold mines. His look seems inspired from Viking (2016) or the HBO series Game Of Thrones.
Raveena Tandon, who is cast as an influential political leader, also seems to be playing an important role in the tussle between Rocky and Adheera. The action scenes look grand and it is pretty clear that the filmmaker has upped the ante this time.
Yash's Rocky makes a late entry, almost halfway through the trailer, but instantly makes a mark with his suave, carefree attitude. He also appears to have dialled down his violent nature and tried to be a more sophisticated businessman but is pulled back into the world of violence. The haunting musical score blends perfectly with the visuals.
Overall, the trailer lives up to the expectations of the fans of the franchise. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 will be released in cinemas on 14 April 2022 in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
