The Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s Roudram Ranam Rudhiram aka RRR saw a major jump on Sunday. After earning Rs19 crore and Rs24 crore on its first two days, the movie amassed Rs31.50 crore yesterday, according to trade portal BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The Hindi version of the film’s overall total is an impressive Rs74.50 crore nett. This is the second-highest number for a film in this language in recent times. Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (2021) remains the first on the list with Rs76.72 crore. But the Akshay Kumar-starrer had been released on the Diwali holiday.
As per BoxOfficeIndia.com, RRR has earned more in metros such as Mumbai and Delhi because of the high ticket prices. It will be interesting to see how the film fares during the week in these places when ticket prices are relatively lower.
Despite RRR’s impressive performance, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files managed to perform well even on its third weekend, earning Rs20.75 crore. The overall total of the film right now is a mammoth Rs226.57 crore.
However, it must be noted that politicians from the ruling party have been booking shows in bulk and distributing tickets for free.
