The romantic film Lekh, starring Gurnam Bhullar and Tania, is set to be released on 1 April. The latest song from the film ‘Mera Yaar’ has been released on White Hill Music. The lyrics have been written by Jaani and features music is by B Praak and vocals by Bhullar.
In the teaser and the song ‘Udd Gaya’, which have been released, we see the young romance between Ronak and Rajveer. ‘Mera Yaar’ concentrates on the period after the high school romance when the two meet each other, presumably after years of separation.
We see an older Bhullar working in the garden, planting various saplings while the song is a lament about waiting for one’s sweetheart and unrequited love. The lyrics are about heartbreak and one’s dreams of being with one’s beloved, all of which are dashed by reality. The music captures the raw emotions that Bhullar’s character feels.
Bhullar, who plays a young school boy in the film, has lost oodles of weight to play the part. However, in this song, he appears in a different look, having grown a beard. There is also a flashback scene where we see him as a young boy, watching Tania getting married and being heartbroken.
Directed by Manvir Brar, Lekh has been written by Jagdeep Sidhu who has written and directed the romantic films Qismat (2018), Sufna (2020) and Qismat 2 (2021).
