The trailer for Mayur Shinde's light-hearted romantic drama Vishu (2022) introduces us to two characters who are poles apart. Vishwanath Malvankar (Gashmeer Mahajani) is a free-spirited young man who hops jobs frequently. Though he stays in Mumbai, he remains attached to his hometown Malvan.
Arvi (Mrinmayee Godbole) is a total contrast to Vishu. She is engrossed in and enjoys the corporate world.
Things take a drastic turn when Vishwanath proposes to Arvi, who is already engaged to be married and seems happy with her lifestyle.
The trailer also shows Arvi accompanying Vishu to his hometown, hinting that this story of two people with contrasting personalities might blossom into an unusual love story.
The trailer promises a fun and emotional story that explores the drastic difference between village and city life.
First-time director Shinde said, "This is the story of a young man who lives in the city but is attached to his hometown. What happens when two people of opposite natures come together is what you will get to see in this film. It is a family movie and youngsters will love it."
Mahajani and Godbole have been cast together for the first time. In a statement, the artistes said, "In this corporate world, we are slowly forgetting our culture and beginning to imitate the West. In this competitive world, we are slowly forgetting our humanity. If this humanity is to be preserved, it is equally important that our culture be preserved. The same message has been conveyed in a light-hearted way through Vishu."
Along with Mahajani and Godbole, the film stars Aetashaa Sansgiri, Vijay Nikam, Milind Phatak and Sanjay Gurbaxani. Written by Hrishikesh Koli and produced by Babu Krishna Bhoir, Vishu is slated for release on 8 April. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
