Hindi film star Salman Khan, who joined the sets of the Chiranjeevi-starrer Godfather (2022) a week ago, is busy wrapping up his portion.

A picture featuring Khan and Chiranjeevi with the film’s director Mohan Raja and producers has surfaced on social media and gone viral.

A remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam super-hit film Lucifer (2019), Godfather will see Khan essaying the role played by actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran in the original.

In the picture, Khan can be seen wearing a blue T-shirt with black jeans while Chiranjeevi is seen wearing an all-black Pathani suit.

The film’s shooting is currently underway at ND Studios in Karjat, about 90 km from Mumbai.

The project, which is being directed by Mohan Raja, will mark Salman Khan’s first appearance in a Telugu film. Last week, Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to welcome the star on board.

“Welcome aboard Godfather, Bhai Salman Khan," the veteran wrote. "Your entry has energized everyone and the excitement has gone to the next level. Sharing the screen with you is an absolute joy. Your presence will no doubt give that magical kick to the audience.”

Godfather also features Tamil star Nayanthara in a key role. She will be seen reprising Manju Warrier’s role from the original. She joined the sets in September 2021 and recently completed shooting her portion for the movie. She has been paired with Satyadev in the movie.

Sharing a picture of Nayanthara from the sets, Mohan Raja had tweeted: “Finished a major schedule today with the lady superstar Nayanthara for our Godfather. It’s nothing less than sheer joy and satisfaction working with her for the consecutive third time.”

Mohan Raja himself returns to Telugu cinema after a decade with Godfather.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi is awaiting the release of filmmaker Koratala Siva’s Acharya (2022), in which he is rumoured to have played dual roles. The film also features his son Ram Charan in a key role.
