Runway 34 trailer: Ajay Devgn’s unflappable pilot faces an inquiry after a mishap

Ajay Devgn has returned to the director’s chair with Runway 34. Like his previous directorial venture, Shivaay (2016), he plays the main lead in this thriller, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh. 

The trailer of Runway 34 doesn’t reveal much about the storyline, perhaps intentionally. The makers have claimed that the film is inspired by true events. Devgn plays a senior pilot who is flying a plane along with an enthusiastic junior co-pilot played by Rakul Preet Singh.

The seemingly routine flight, however, turns volatile and ends abruptly in a crash landing. The senior pilot is forced to face an inquiry headed by Bachchan’s character. 

The scenes depicting severe turbulence provide thrills and tension. The inquiry bit also stands out because of the drama and the dialogues. The film also appears technically sound. 

Devgn is impressive as a confident and heroic pilot who is unaffected by the circumstances around him. Bachchan, Singh and Boman Irani are also impressive. The film also stars Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh. 

Runway 34 will be released in theatres on 29 April.
