Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam teaser: Drowsy Mammootty and his village take a siesta

Since the announcement about the maiden collaboration between Mammootty and Malayalam auteur Lijo Jose Pellissery, the fans of both were eagerly awaiting the first glimpse of their upcoming film Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam. 

Finally, the makers decided to drop the first teaser on World Sleep Day, 18 March. And they couldn't have picked a better day, as the clip shows absolutely nothing but villagers, including small children taking a nap in the afternoon. There is also a Mammootty, who is snoozing peacefully.

The teaser begins with some drowsy animals and birds slowly closing their eyes. Then we are shown images of people catching some Zs. It's a unique teaser that doesn't give away anything about the film. 

Lijo has earned such a reputation over the years with his unique projects in Malayalam cinema, that probably only he can get away with such an uneventful teaser and still generate curiosity about the project. The makers haven't yet announced the film's release date.
