SS Rajamouli's upcoming magnum opus RRR on Sunday became the first film to be promoted at the iconic Statue of Unity.

The filmmaker as well as the leading men Jr NTR and Ram Charan made a splash as they posed in front of the tallest statue in the world, and their pictures went viral on social media.

The team of RRR has begun the final leg of promotions ahead of the grand release on 25 March.

One fan raved about Rajamouli’s passion for promotions. He wrote that if not for him, Telugu stars wouldn’t promote their movies so aggressively.

RRR was supposed to be released worldwide on 7 January. The release was postponed due to the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases across the country.

The film, which marks the actors' maiden collaboration and will be released in 3D, also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani and Shriya Saran.

Talking about the project, Rajamouli had said at the film’s launch in 2019, “This will be a fictional story on the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. There are gaps in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters that we don’t know about. We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. It is through this fictional story we’d like to show what could have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they met and bonded.”
