Actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her husband Anand Ahuja announced today that they would be welcoming their first child sometime in autumn.
On Instagram, the actress shared photos of herself cradling her belly, which were captioned, “Four hands. To raise you the very best we can. Two hearts. That will beat in unison with yours, every step of the way. One family. Who will shower you with love and support. We can’t wait to welcome you.”
The couple’s announcement was met with several congratulatory messages, with producer Ekta Kapoor and singer Shreya Ghoshal wishing them well. Sonam’s cousin, actress Janhvi Kapoor seemed shocked, as she posted, “OH MY GOD WHATT!!!” followed by numerous hearts. Former co-star and close friend Kareena Kapoor Khan replied, “Wohoooooooo soooo happy for you both, can’t wait for the babies to play.”
Sonam and Anand were married on 8 May 2018 after dating for a few years. The actress was last seen onscreen playing herself in the meta thriller AK Vs AK (2020) in which her father, veteran actor Anil Kapoor, searches for her after she is abducted.
Last February, she completed filming for the crime thriller Blind, a Hindi remake of the 2011 South Korean film of the same name in which she plays a visually impaired police officer on the trail of a serial killer. Produced by Sujoy Ghosh and directed by Shome Makhija, the film is yet to be released.
The actress, who primarily resides in London, England now, hasn’t signed on for any new projects as yet.
