Bonny Sengupta’s serial killer character from Saptaswa Basu’s upcoming film Doctor Bakshi was revealed via a video on 18 March.

Also starring Parambrata Chatterjee, Subhasree Ganguly, Mahi Kar and Soumyajit Majumdar, Doctor Bakshi is a spinoff of Basu’s previous film Pratidwandi (2020).

In the video, as Sengupta walks through the dark alleys of a city, he says that the darkness itself had shown him a light of hope. Initially, he used to be scared but now people are scared of him. Sengupta then reveals his identity as the serial killer Aditya, while launching an attack on his next target with his revolver while riding a bike.

So far, Sengupta has mostly appeared in mainstream romantic comedy films and action dramas. In the teaser of Basu’s film, the actor seems to have adopted a rather serious demeanour.

Doctor Bakshi is slated to be released on Eid this year.
