Urmila Jagtap and Rahul Patil's horror drama Raudra to be released in theatres on 1 April


The film has been written and directed by first-time filmmaker Ravindra Shivaji.

The Urmila Jagtap- and Rahul Patil-starrer horror drama Raudra is set to be released in theatres on 1 April.

The film, helmed by first-time director Ravindra Shivaji, is set in the 1970s in a small village called Wadgaon.

While both Jagtap and Patil have played small roles in films before, this is the first time they will be seen in leading roles.

The film's story revolves around census officer Trimbak (Patil) who is visiting Wadgaon. He has a special interest in history. Nanasaheb Kulkarni, an influential person in the village, puts him up in an old fortress. There are some rumours about that castle.

During his search for some evidence, Trimbak comes across a historical document that will bare the secrets behind these rumours. Being a history buff, he begins his search for the truth, but it soon lands him in a dangerous game of deceit and deception.

Raudra also stars Deepak Damle, Anita Kokane and Amit Padwankar. Besides directing the film, Ravindra Shivaji has also written the screenplay and dialogues. Swapnil Kedare has handled the camera while Akshay Jadhav has composed the music for the film.

Raudra has been produced by Mangesh Gatkal and Sameer Gade and presented by Sushilkumar Agarwal under the Ultra Media Private Limited banner.

Speaking about the film, Agarwal said, "The Marathi audience is clever and choosy. They have always admired films with unique content. Marathi films have now begun to flourish nationally and internationally with a regional flavour. The story of Raudra is thrilling and will keep the audience hooked and give it a unique experience."
