Borunbabur Bondhu, Binisutoy, Dwitiyo Purush win big at the 4th Joy Filmfare Bangla Awards 2021

Anik Dutta’s Borunbabur Bondhu (2020), Atanu Ghosh’s Binisutoy (2021) and Srijit Mukherji’s Dwitiyo Purush (2020) emerged the big winners at the fourth Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2021. The grand award ceremony, which took place on 17 March in Kolkata, celebrated the best films that were released between 2020 and 2021.

Borunbabur Bondhu and Avijit Sen’s Tonic (2021) jointly won the award for Best Film, while Anik Dutta received the award for Best Director. Borunbabur Bondhu also fetched Anik Dutta and Utsav Mukherjee the Best Dialogue award. Veteran actor Paran Bandopadhyay won the award for Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) for his performance in Tonic, while Avijit Sen won the award for Best Debut Director for Tonic, along with Supriyo Sen for Tangra Blues (2021).

Binisutoy was named the winner of the Critics’ Award For Best Film. The film’s lead actress Jaya Ashan bagged the award for the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female). The Atanu Ghosh movie also fetched Sujay Datta Ray the Best Editor award.

Actor Anirban Bhattacharya won the award for Critics’ Award For Best Actor (Male) for Dwitiyo Purush along with Arjun Chakraborty for his portrayal of Apu in Subhrajit Mitra’s Avijatrik (2021). Srijit Mukherji won the award for Best Screenplay for Dwitiyo Purush, along with Dhrubo Banerjee for Golondaaj (2021).

The award for Critics’ Award for Best Actor (Female) went to Arpita Chatterjee for Arjunn Dutta’s Abyakto (2020).
