The phenomenal theatrical run of Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files shows no sign of slowing down. The drama, about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley in 1990, earned a remarkable Rs17.50 crore nett at the box office on Tuesday, according to the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The film earned Rs15 crore nett on its first Monday, which is a rare feat.

According to the website, The Kashmir Files is performing exceptionally well in the Hindi belt and Gujarat and is also likely to reach the Rs20 crore mark today or tomorrow.

The film’s grand total so far stands at Rs59 crore. According to sources, its budget was only Rs14 crore.

Akshay Kumar’s big-ticket film Bachchhan Paandey will be released this Friday. It will be interesting to see if the film is affected by The Kashmir Files or vice versa.

Meanwhile, the Hindi version of Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam is sinking further at the box office. Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the film slumped to Rs1.15 crore nett yesterday, taking its overall collection to only Rs16.65 crore.

The Telugu version of the film has earned over Rs150 crore, according to its producers. While impressive, the number pales in comparison with the movie's mammoth Rs300 crore budget.
