The makers of Chandramukhi have finally that Adinath Kothare will play the lead role of a politician named Daulat Deshmane.

The makers unveiled the actor's first look in a special video clip, which also features the first song from the film.

Speaking about his role, Kothare said, "After producing, directing and working in Hindi films, I have got an opportunity to work in Marathi again after a long gap and that too in such a strong role. I have played the role of a politician before, but this role is very different from my previous ones. He is a politician who has a purpose in life. He is fighting for social welfare and for the rights of the people. Only after the release of this film will it be known whether his efforts will be successful. I had to study the personality traits and the body language of this character."

Chandramukhi is Prasad Oak's third directorial venture. Speaking about working with Kothare, Oak said, "I have seen Adinath's work before. Therefore, I knew that he was the perfect choice for this role and he has done it 100% justice. In the teaser itself, you can guess the personality of Daulat."

The makers have kept the name of the lead actress under wraps for now.

Chandramukhi's screenplay and dialogues have been written by actor and writer Chinmay Mandlekar and the film's music has been composed by Ajay-Atul.

Produced by Planet Marathi and Golden Ratio Films, Chandramukhi is scheduled to be released on 29 April.
