Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has emerged a hit on its first weekend at the box office.

After a fair opening of Rs3.25 crore on Friday, the movie saw huge jumps in the next two days, earning Rs8.25 crore and Rs15 crore respectively, according to the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The growth on Sunday, especially, is phenomenal for the film, which stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar and Bhasha Sumbli. Interestingly, the Sunday number of the film is almost equal to the lifetime collection of Agnihotri’s last film The Tashkent Files (2019), which was just an inch below Rs17 crore.

The reason why The Kashmir Files has already become a hit is because of its low budget of only Rs14 crore. The film has already made Rs26.50 crore so far.

That’s not all. The buzz about the film is so strong that it is expected to fare well today as well.

Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the Prabhas’ period drama Radhe Shyam is struggling at the box office. The Radha Krishna Kumar directed film has collected Rs4.50 crore both on Friday and Saturday and Rs5 crore on Sunday.
