The Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Dasvi (2022) will be premiered on Jio Cinema and Netflix on 7 April.
The Hindi feature, directed by Tushar Jalota, sees the actor play a prisoner named Ganga Ram Chaudhary who decides to finally sit for his class 10 board exams. The actor shared a video in which he informs the audience, “Jail se dasvi karna is mara right to education!”

The poster shows the actor standing atop a desk in a library about to proclaim something to the rest of the room. Bachchan also sent other students and 10th graders best wishes for their upcoming board exams.
Dasvi, produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Bake My Cake Films, also stars Yami Gautam, Nimrat Kaur and Manu Rishi Chadha.
Jalota, who has been an associate director on Tumsa Nahin Dekha (2004) and Judgementall Hai Kya (2019), has also acted in the 2007 film Showbiz. Dasvi marks his directorial debut.
In the pandemic, all of Bachchan’s features Ludo (2020), The Big Bull (2021) and Bob Biswas (2021) were premiered directly on OTT. The actor is also working on the second season of Breathe: Into The Shadows, the Hindi remake of Oththa Seruppu Size 7, and the R Balki film Ghoomer this year.
