Ajay Bahl to direct Hindi remake of Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Aaranya Kaandam

Filmmaker Ajay Bahl will direct the Hindi remake of Thiagarajan Kumararaja's debut feature. Aaranya Kaandam (2011).
The rights to the Hindi adaptation of the National award-winning film have been purchased by Tips Industries' Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri.
The news was shared by trade analyst Komal Nahta on social media on Monday.

Aaranya Kaandam marked the directorial debut of Thiagarajan. Starring Jackie Shroff, Guru Somasundaram, Yasmin Ponnappa and Ravi Krishna, the film went on to win two National awards, including Best First Film of A Director for Thiagarajan. The filmmaker went on to make the acclaimed Super Deluxe in 2019.
Bahl, who helmed the acclaimed Section 375 (2019), is currently working on The Lady Killer (2022) with Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar.
The Hindi adaptation of Aaranya Kaandam will be produced by Tips Industries and Akshai Rai's 12th Street Entertainment.
