Kamal Haasan's Vikram to be released in theatres worldwide on 3 June

Along with the release date announcement, the makers of the film also unveiled a video showing the making of the action movie.

Actor Kamal Haasan on Monday took to Twitter to announce that his upcoming Tamil action-thriller Vikram (2022) will be released worldwide in cinemas on 3 June. Announcing the release date, Kamal wrote that he’s waiting with bated breath for the movie to hit the screens.

Vikram marks the maiden collaboration between Kamal, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. The film features Kalidas Jayaram, Antony Varghese and Arjun Das among others.

Kamal took to Twitter and wrote: “I am waiting with bated breath for our "Vikram" to release world over, in theatres on June 3rd 2022 (sic).”

Along with the release date announcement, a video into the making of the film was also released. The video promises that Vikram will be the biggest action entertainer.

A couple of weeks ago, the shoot of the film was finally completed after 110 days of filming.

Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj tweeted, “After 110 days of shoot, it’s a WRAP. Thanx to the entire cast and crew for the EXTRAORDINARY effort (sic).”

The project was supposed to be wrapped up last November.  The shoot had to be postponed after Kamal tested positive for the coronavirus. Eventually, the makers decided to shoot the entire schedule indoors in a specially built set for the sake of the senior actor’s health.

A set with more than 50 damaged cars was shifted to Binny Mills, Chennai, for the final schedule where a major action sequence was shot.
