After Shiddat (2021), actress Radhika Madan is set to test her mettle with more female-centric projects. She has already signed on for Sudhanshu Saria's social drama, Sanaa.
Produced by Four Line Entertainment, the film will see Madan play a woman battling unhealed trauma.
Saria told entertainment weekly Variety, "I’ve always believed in making films that are ambitious in quality and rich in story and messaging. I’ve nurtured this dream for seven years and I couldn’t be more excited that Radhika Madan agreed to bring my titular character to life.
"The film is a powerful conversation starter and I hope it resonates with audiences worldwide. I hope the film makes it harder for people to judge women.”
Sanaa marks the first of several projects that Madan has lined up for the year. These reportedly include Kacchey Limbu, where she is set to play an underarm cricketer.
The actress will also be part of Homi Adajania's upcoming series on Disney+ Hotstar. She will join Dimple Kapadia, who was recently spotted shooting for a portion of the series in Rajasthan.
The title for the web-series is yet to be confirmed by the makers.
About her choice of projects, Radhika Madan said, "Acting gives me the freedom to lead different lives with every role I take up, that's one of my favourite parts about being an actor.
"Through films we also mirror society. I have seen many strong women around me and feel blessed to get an opportunity to play such impactful and important characters. Right from Sanaa, Homi Adajania's and the other projects I'm doing, each role celebrates a different story of a woman and I am glad to be the one playing it."
In addition to these, the actress has Kuttey, alongside Arjun Kapoor, Tabu and Konkona Sensharma. The film will be directed by Aasmaan Bhardwaj, who is making his debut as a filmmaker.
