Apart from producing films such as Halal (2017), Vajvuya Band Baja (2020) and Bhonga (2021) and presenting the highly acclaimed Lathe Joshi (2017), Amol Kagne has also acted in a few films.

He will now be seen playing a comical character for the first time in the upcoming comedy Zol Zaal, which is also presented by him. Directed by Manas Kumar, the film has an ensemble cast which also includes Ajinkya Deo, Manoj Joshi, Mangesh Desai, Uday Tikekar, Bharat Ganeshpure, Kushal Badrike and Amol’s sister Pritam Kagne.

Kagne plays a character named Jay. In the film, he is close friends with a character named Veeru [a reference to Sholay (1975)]. He said that he got the role because of producers Gopal Agrawal and Anand Gupta.

The actor said in a statement, “It is very challenging to play a humorous character. It is a big deal for me to be playing such a character. It was a very good experience for me to work with the ensemble cast. They didn’t let me feel less experienced or younger on the sets and took good care of me.”

Highlighting the contribution of the director, he added, “With director Manas Kumar himself being so funny in real life, he extracted good comic performances from us. The film has a total of 22 characters and to know what zol [crooked activities] they have done, you will need to watch the film in theatres on 1 July.”
