Taapsee Pannu pens an emotional note after Mithali Raj announces retirement

Former India women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj announced her retirement from all forms of the game yesterday. The news instantly caught the attention of cricket lovers not just in India but all over the world and wishes started pouring in.
Actress Taapsee Pannu will be playing Mithali’s character in her biopic titled Shabaash Mithu.
Pannu posted a farewell message for the cricketer after she announced her retirement. Sharing a picture with the former cricketer on Instagram, Pannu listed some of her achievements such as representing India in four World Cups and reaching the finals twice, being the youngest cricketer to score 200 in a test match and being the only Indian cricketer to score seven half-centuries in seven consecutive innings.
Pannu added, “Some personalities and their achievements are gender agnostic. You changed the game, now it’s our turn to change the perspective! Etched in history our captain forever Mithali Raj. On to the next innings of life.”
The film also stars Sampa Mandal as former India left-arm spinner Neetu David.
Directed by Srijit Mukherji and written by Priya Aven, Shabaash Mithu has a musical score by Amit Trivedi. The film will be released in theatres on 15 July.
