The upcoming Disney+ Hotstar show Masoom (2022) marks a milestone for two of its cast members. It is the first web show for popular film actor Boman Irani. It is also the debut in this format for Deepak Tijori’s daughter Samara Tijori, who was earlier seen in the movie Bob Biswas (2021).
Masoom is one of those mysterious crime shows where the location of a town adds to the effect. The trailer for the show directed by Mihir Desai does not reveal everything about the storyline.
The show is about the death of an old woman who lived alone in a quiet house in a picturesque town in Punjab by falling off her bed. Her husband (Irani) arrives at the scene and so does their daughter Sana (Tijori). She suspects that her father is involved in her mother’s death. Sana, who is undergoing therapy for mental illness, begins to spy on her father.
Although Irani doesn’t make a full-fledged appearance in the trailer, the promo suggests he has delivered a subdued performance which goes with the mysterious nature of the show. Samara Tijori shows confidence while speaking through her expressions. The show also stars Manjari Fadnis, Upasna Singh, Jobanpreet Singh and Manu Rishi Chadha.
Masoom will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar from 17 June. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the show.
