In the sequel to Khuda Haafiz (2020), Sameer (Vidyut Jammwal) and Nargis (Shivaleeka Oberoi) are now in a happy place with their adopted daughter Nandini. The couple seems to have had some trouble conceiving a child but their family is complete with the young girl.
One day, Nandini is abducted, along with another young girl, as she is returning from school in Lucknow. Both Sameer and Nargis are distraught; he begins his search to find her, ending up in some shady places, including a prison where Danish Husain’s character seems to be an ally.
It seems as if time is running out as the antagonists played by Sheeba Chaddha and Dibyendu Bhattacharya try to make sure the young girls do not survive. Can Sameer make it in time? Will their marriage survive this latest challenge?
The answers will be found when the film, which looks like the desi Taken (2008), is released in theatres on 8 July. Unlike the original, the sequel offers more opportunities for Jammwal to beat bad guys to a pulp.
Produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak Sneha Bimal Parekh and Ram Mirchandani, the action thriller has been written and directed by Faruk Kabir.
