The trailer of the Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha (2022) has been out for a little over a week and there are many expectations for the film, which has been in the works for several years now.

An official Indian adaptation of Robert Zemeckis's Forrest Gump (1994), the Hindi film will take the viewers on an emotional voyage, covering every major event in Indian history.

Besides the reactions of the Indian public, actor Aamir Khan is keen to see how the original star Tom Hanks responds to his film. Khan said, “Forrest Gump is an iconic film. I am very curious to see how Tom Hanks reacts after watching the film. He is a wonderful actor.”

Interestingly, Khan had once met Hanks during a meeting with Steven Spielberg. The award-winning filmmaker was shooting for the film Bridge Of Spies (2015) with Hanks in Germany.

Spielberg is said to have introduced Khan to Hanks as the ‘James Cameron of India’, as the actor is known for breaking his own box-office records. However, Hanks said he already knew Khan’s work and had watched 3 Idiots (2009) three times.

Besides the trailer, two songs from the film, ‘Kahani’ and ‘Mein Ki Karan?’ have also been released. The makers have opted for a different approach, introducing the songs without a music video by highlighting the work of singers, musicians, technicians, and lyricists.

Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios, Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Chaitanya Akkineni. The film will be released theatrically on 11 August.
