Parambrata Chatterjee will play the lead role in Kannada director Pawan Wadeyar’s maiden Hindi feature film Notary. An entertaining satire, Notary will feature the Bengali actor as an honest employee who refuses to lie even in the most desperate situations.

A report in The Times of India, an English daily, revealed that Chatterjee’s character in the film works in a profession that often manipulates people to compromise their core beliefs. The story unveils how he handles such situations, staying true to his ethics.

According to Wadeyar, Chatterjee’s innocent look made him a perfect choice for the role. “When you see Param, you get the feeling that he is a principled man and that is exactly what I needed for my protagonist. I am happy he agreed because he loved the story,” he added.

Wadeyar reportedly wrote the story long back and needed a large canvas to present it cinematically. “The subject is such that it can’t be narrated in a typical formulaic manner and had to follow a more innovative style of storytelling. I realized that I can’t possibly do it in Kannada since the setting is such and, hence, I decided to do it in Hindi,” added the director, who is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film Raymo.

Notary will go on the floors in September.

Chatterjee is currently busy shooting for the Amazon Prime Video series Mumbai Diaries (Season 2). His recent film Habji Gabji, co-starring Subhasree Ganguly is running in theatres.
