Box office: Vikram enters Rs200 crore club, Kamal Haasan presents director Lokesh Kanagaraj with a new car


The film, which was dubbed and released in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, sees the veteran actor reprise his role from the 1986 film of the same name.

Kamal Haasan’s latest release Vikram has set the cash registers on fire. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya, has managed to enter the Rs200 crore club worldwide in less than a week. Buoyed by the phenomenal success of the film, Kamal has presented Lokesh with a new car. 

The film, which was dubbed and released in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, sees Kamal reprise his role from the 1986 film of the same name. He returns as former agent Vikram of the Black Squad who used to work for the Indian government.

Sharing a picture of the car, a Lexus, Lokesh thanked Kamal for the gesture. 

On Tuesday, Kamal released a video in which he thanked audiences for making Vikram a huge hit. In the video, he specifically thanked Suriya for agreeing to make a 10-minute cameo. 

Haasan went on to thank Suriya for accepting the role, ensuring that he will have a lengthier part in the next part of the Vikram franchise. 

Vikram, which stars Suriya the leader of a drug mafia, sets the stage for a franchise. Suriya could play the antagonist in Karthi’s Kaithi 2 and the next part of Vikram.
