Nowadays, South Indian films are being dubbed and released in multiple languages simultaneously. Marathi filmmakers are also ready to jump on this bandwagon. The highly anticipated historical action film Har Har Mahadev, which is set to arrive in cinemas on the Diwali weekend this year, will be released in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Speaking about their decision to release the Abhijeet Deshpande-helmed film in five languages, Zee Studios' business head Mangesh Kulkarni said, "The work of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is so great and magnificent that it cannot be limited to Maharashtra only. Maharaj's war strategy and organizational skills are studied all over the world. Today, we are fascinated by fiction in other languages, so we had the feeling that our true, inspiring and glorious history must come before the world with the same grandeur.

"It is in this spirit that we have decided to display Har Har Mahadev in five languages all over India. Another feature of this movie is its VFX team. More than 400 VFX technicians who have worked on many Hollywood projects are working on our film."

The film, which tells the story of the founding of the Maratha empire in the 17th century by the warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji, is set to clash with the Akshay Kumar-led Ram Setu. Incidentally, Har Har Mahadev is one of several films on the Maratha king's life and times. The most recent one was Pravin Tarde's Sarsenapati Hambirrao where Gashmir Mahajani played the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji and his son Chhatrapati Sambhaji.
