Ammy Virk’s upcoming Punjabi feature Sher Bagga (2022) has pushed its release date. The film was due to be released on 10 June.
However, the news of the murder of singer-actor Sidhu Moosewala has shaken up the Punjabi film industry and as reported by the online edition of the newspaper Hindustan Times, Virk shared that the release of the film has been pushed “due to extremely sad and unfortunate time.” However, the new release date is yet to be announced.
Earlier, Virk had shared an image of Moosewala paying tribute to the young star.
Jagdeep Sidhu, the director of Sher Bagga, also shared an emotional video where he can be seen as paying his respects to Moosewala.
Sher Bagga is the second Punjabi film to have postponed its release after the demise of the singer. The Prince KJ Singh-starrer Posti (2022), which was initially set to release on 3 June also changed its release date to 17 June.
The shockwaves of Moosewala’s murder are still being felt across the state of Punjab, and the demands for justice for his death are gathering strength as artistes are coming together to pay their respects.
