Coronavirus update: SRK, Katrina Kaif, Kartk Aaryan and Aditya Roy Kapur test positive

COVID-19 cases have been on the rise in Maharashtra, and Mumbai, over the past few days. The virus is affecting Hindi film celebrities once again. Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kartik Aaryan and Aditya Roy Kapur are some figures from the industry who have contracted the coronavirus.

In the wake of numerous unconfirmed reports, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee confirmed that Khan had tested positive for the virus. She said in a tweet, “Just came to know that our brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan has been detected COVID positive. Pray fastest recovery for the superstar. Get well Shah Rukh! Spring back asap! (sic)” 

Kartik shared the news about him testing positive in a funny tweet, which translated to, “Everything was going so positive, so COVID also couldn’t be left behind.” 

Kaif not being able to attend the IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) awards in Abu Dhabi and accompany her husband and actor Vicky Kaushal is being attributed to her catching the virus. 

There are reports about Kapur also testing positive. The postponement of the trailer launch of his upcoming action film Om: The Battle Within (2022) also indicates this. 

As per reports, as many as 889 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Mumbai on Saturday.
