Arjun Das to make Hindi debut with Angamaly Diaries remake

The film will also mark the Hindi debut of Tamil filmmaker Madhumita.

Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment is all set to remake the highly acclaimed and successful Malayalam movie Angamaly Diaries (2017) into Hindi. The news was shared by veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter.

The remake will see the South star Arjun Das make his Hindi debut. He is mostly known for his role in the successful Tamil action film Kaithi (2019).

Angamaly Diaries was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. But the Hindi remake will be directed by the Tamil filmmaker Madhumita. The movie will also mark her Hindi film debut.

Produced by Vijay Babu, Angamaly Diaries starred Antony Varghese, Anna Rajan, Tito Wilson, Sarath, Chemban Vinod Jose, Ullas Jose Chemban and Kichu Tellas. The rest of the cast of the Hindi remake hasn’t been announced yet. 

Angamaly Diaries revolves around Vincent Pepe (Varghese), who is eager to be the leader of a righteous gang that rules the city of Angamaly in Kerala. But to do so, he needs to battle deadly rival gangsters.

A Marathi remake of Anagamaly Diaries was announced in 2018 with the title Kolhapur Diaries. The film is still in the making. 

Abundantia Entertainment also has the keenly awaited Akshay Kumar-starrer Ram Setu in the pipeline. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film will be released during Diwali on 24 October.
