It looks like 2023 is shaping up to be Shah Rukh Khan's year. The actor's third film of the year, Jawan (2023), directed by Atlee, has been officially confirmed. The action film, which marks the South director’s Hindi debut, is due to be released on 2 June 2023.
The announcement video shared today shows the actor as the title character staying in a house somewhere close to the Arctic Circle. Khan is shown wounded and battered, as he ties bandages around his face.
A message arrives via Morse code as he prepares for a battle of some sort. A female voice on the radio states, “Good to go, chief!” and Khan lets out a wry chuckle.
The action thriller, which has already been in development for a while now, is said to also star actress Nayanthara, although her casting was not confirmed today.
Atlee, who is known for his big-screen collaborations with Vijay in Mersal (2017) and Bigil (2019), stated he was “feeling emotional, excited and blessed” as he revealed the first look of the feature.
