Shamshera song ‘Ji Huzoor’: Ranbir Kapoor impresses with his acrobatic stunts

The trailer of Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera, which was released a few days back, gave more than a fair idea about the film’s storyline. The first song of the film ‘Ji Huzoor’ throws more light on Ranbir Kapoor’s titular character. 

The song starts with the actor pulling down the Union Jack, leading us to believe that he might rip it apart. However, he ends up holding it respectfully.

‘Ji Huzoor’ is one of the rare numbers sung by Aditya Narayan in the past decade or so. He succeeds in adding energy to Kapoor’s character. But the audio doesn’t have the kind of impact that one would expect from a heroic track of this type. Mithoon does well as a music composer but his lyrics are just passable. 

‘Ji Huzoor’ scores higher on the visual front. Kapoor shows a lot of dedication and energy while performing the number, along with the kids. But the visuals are also noteworthy because of the various acrobatic stunts performed by the protagonist. It is not often that you get to see such action in the video of a song. 

Also starring Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, Shamshera will be released in theatres on 22 July.
