Hruta Durgule, a popular face on Marathi television, is set to make her feature film debut with Ananya (2022), where she plays the titular character.
The film's trailer, which is more than three minutes long, begins with Ananya's introduction as a scholar who has her whole life planned. She has won multiple gold medals and is looking forward to exploring the new chapter of her life as she gets engaged to her boyfriend.
Just when it seems all her dreams are about to come true, a terrible accident changes her life forever. She ends up losing both hands in the accident. The trailer then shows the pain and trauma she endures and how she finally decides not to be bogged by her disability but to write her sucess story with her foot instead.
Although the trailer promises an emotional drama, one can't deny that the trailer is cut like a mini-movie and reveals all the plot points of the film, including the emotional graph of the titular character, with the sole exception of the climax. This is likely to affect the viewing experience when the film is released.
Produced by Dhruv Das, Ravi Jadhav and Sanjay Chhabria, Ananya will be released in cinemas on 22 July. Catch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
