Director Raj Mehta’s comic family drama Jugjugg Jeeyo had a decent first weekend at the box office, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The film, which stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh and Prajakta Koli, opened with Rs8.50 crore nett. Jugjugg Jeeyo saw a considerable jump in numbers on the next two days, earning Rs12 crore and Rs14.50 crore respectively.
As per trade sources, Jugjugg Jeeyo was made at a cost of around Rs90 to Rs95 crore. Its total stands at Rs35 crore.
The Dharma Productions’ movie needs to pass the Monday test and perform consistently this week.
Nevertheless, it seems the fate of Jugjugg Jeeyo will be better than some of the big recent films such as Dhaakad (2022) and Samrat Prithviraj (2022).
This week will see the release of R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and the Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer Rashtra Kavach OM. Jugjugg Jeeyo’s journey in its second week will depend on how many screens it would command at this juncture.
