Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor to become parents

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are expecting their first baby. The couple tied the knot on 14 April in a private ceremony.

Bhatt took to Instagram and shared a picture of her undergoing sonography with her husband by her side.

She wrote, "Our baby…coming soon."

Kapoor will be seen on the silver screen after four years in Shamshera on 22 July. Recently, during the film’s trailer launch, the actor admitted that 2022 is a special year for him. “I have two releases this year but apart from that, I also got married this year. I had said in my films and used to believe that shaadi is dal chawal for 50 saal till you die. But when you experience life, you realise that dal chawal is only the best. And Alia is dal chawal with tadka, achar and everything in my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”

Clearly, the couple has more reasons to celebrate this year. Many friends from the industry commented on Bhatt’s post and showered blessings on the couple. Filmmaker-producer Karan Johar wrote, "My heart is bursting with many heart emojis."

Both actors have been busy working ever since their marriage. While Kapoor was apparently shooting for Luv Ranjan’s film in Spain, Bhatt was in London filming for her first Hollywood film Heart Of Stone with Gal Gadot.

Amidst their busy schedule, they will now be taking some time off after finishing their commitments, until Brahmastra promotions begin as the film will be released on 9 September.
