Tanuj Virwani, Tridha Choudhury and Sapna Pabbi to headline love story titled Puppy Love

Tanuj Virwani, who rose to fame for his role in Amazon Prime Video's series Inside Edge, will be paired with Tridha Choudhury and Sapna Pabbi in an intense love story titled Puppy Love.

The Hindi-language film will be helmed by Kannada director Hari Santhosh (Santhu), best known for his films Alemari (2012), College Kumar (2020) and Bytwo Love (2020).

Hari Santhosh said that filmmakers like SS Rajamouli and Prashant Neel had paved the way for others from the South to shine.

He said, "I am very thankful to my past self for never giving up and the South filmmakers who took it upon themselves to reach this stature (sic). I am sure that after I’m done shooting it, this film will be very close to my heart since Bollywood [the Hindi film industry] is a long dream of mine. The actors are very talented and ooze with passion and talent.

"With blockbusters like RRR (2022) and KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) gaining popularity in the North Indian market, the potential of us South Indian filmmakers has changed, and today spectators are more forthcoming to our reverie. I am hopeful that the audience will love what my imagination and sight will bring forth." 

Excited about playing the lead, Virwani said, “Santhosh had narrated a story of young love and it seemed as if it’s a part of my own past, or rather, all of our pasts. Familiar, indeed, yet unknown to us, at large.”

Choudhury is also delighted to be in the film. "I am very confident with Hari Santhosh sir's directing and the story by Niket Pandey. Filming begins in London soon, and I am delighted to play a character that will brighten the grey days there with her wit and smile. The film will combine all of what drives us to love and be compassionate."

Pabbi is confident that this will make a mark. "Just being soulmates doesn't require you to be lovers. I am thrilled to take part in a film that will represent a bold yet well-crafted modern interpretation of a love story, which is always characterized by compassion and humanity with unprejudice," she said.

Puppy Love is produced by Suresh and Avinash Daniel Charles for Padmavathii Pictures, in association with Vipul Sharma of the UK-based Blue Bling Productions.
