After an intriguing teaser, the makers of Rajkummar Rao's investigative thriller HIT: The First Case (2022) have unveiled the two-and-a-half-minute trailer which introduces us to the leading man as Vikram, the best investigative officer in the Homicide Intervention Team.
Vikram is tasked with finding a young woman named Preeti who went missing after her car broke down in the middle of the highway. Vikram himself is experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder due to an incident and as he digs deeper, it is triggered.
His lover Neha, played by Sanya Malhotra, is his only solace, but eventually she also goes missing and he soon gets entangled in the mystery of his missing girlfriend. The trailer ends with a visibly wounded Rajkummar Rao on his knees. A hand then emerges from outside the frame with a gun pointed at the protagonist before the screen turns blank.
Rajkummar Rao is impressive, especially in the emotionally traumatic moments. The film also stars Dalip Tahil and Sanjay Narvekar. Hindi cinema hasn't had many investigative thrillers of late and this film can turn out to be a surprise hit.
The film is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster of the same name that was released in 2020. The film has been directed by Dr Sailesh Kolanu who also helmed the original.
HIT: The First Case will be released in theatres on 15 July. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
