Shamshera teaser: Ranbir Kapoor impresses as the saviour of his people

A few days ago, Yash Raj Films unveiled the poster of Shamshera which showcases a rugged and fierce Ranbir Kapoor. The makers have now released a one-minute-21-second teaser, which is packed with action.

The clip sees Sanjay Dutt as a menacing police officer who doesn't bat an eyelid when it comes to torturing his captives. Ranbir Kapoor, a dashing bandit who becomes the saviour of his tribe, then makes a grand entrance. Yet, we only see glimpses of him in the teaser.

His voiceover introduces his character and ends with the film’s tagline — ‘Karm se dacait, dharm se azaad.’ One of the major highlights of the teaser is the film’s visual effects, which justifies the makers' decision to release the film in the Imax format.

Visually, the film looks like a stunning piece of cinema and Kapoor is also impressive. As soon as the teaser dropped, fans on social media were awestruck and surprised to see the artiste in such an unusual avatar.

It’s also going to be interesting to see the face-off between Kapoor and Dutt in the film. Directed by Agneepath (2012) filmmaker Karan Malhotra, Shamshera is set to be released on 22 July. The trailer will be out on 24 June.
