Actress Kranti Redkar’s return to the director’s chair for the Marathi movie Rainbow was announced in January this year. The film recently went on the floors in London.
Produced by Planet Marathi, Rainbow stars Sharad Kelkar, Sonalee Kulkarni, Urmila Kothare and Rishi Saxena. Prasad Oak was a part of the cast when the film was announced. But he is now replaced by Kelkar.
Speaking about the film, Redkar said in a statement, “The title of the film itself is vibrant as all the colours are a part of it. We have tried to show the vibrant journey of relationships through this film. This film gave me an opportunity to be a part of Akshay Bardapurkar’s Planet Marathi. After waiting patiently all this while, the film has now gone on the floors.”
Bardapurkar added, “Apart from being an excellent actress, Kranti Redkar is also a very good director. Rainbow will bring some sensitive aspects about relationships. The story is moving. The film will soon be brought in front of the audience.”
The makers have also released the colourful character posters of the four actors.
The film marks actress Kranti Redkar's second directorial venture after Kaakan (2015), which starred Jitendra Joshi and Kothare.
