Tips Films attained box office success with the youthful romantic saga Ishq Vishk in 2003. The Ken Ghosh film served as the launchpad for Shahid Kapoor and it marked Amrita Rao's second big-screen appearance. The film also starred Shenaz Treasury and Vishal Malhotra.
The banner has now announced a sequel, Ishq Vishk Rebound, which will star the young Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan and Naila Grewal.
Ishq Vishk Rebound marks the Hindi directorial debut of well-known Marathi filmmaker Nipun Dharmadhikari. He posted on Instagram, “My first film as a director in Hindi. When relationships can be found on apps, and lost over a chat, you know that love needs an upgrade. Ishq Vishk Rebound. It's time to move on.”
Of the main cast, Khan and Pashmina are newcomers. The latter is the daughter of music composer Rajesh Roshan and the cousin of Hrithik Roshan. Saraf has worked in quite a few films, including Dear Maya (2017), Hichki (2018), The Sky Is Pink (2019) and Ludo (2020). Grewal has appeared in the movies Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Dear Maya (2018), Thappad (2020) and Bhangra Paa Le (2020).
According to veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Ishq Vishk Rebound has already gone on floors.
