This week’s release, Nikamma (2022), starring Abhimanyu Dassani, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Shirley Setia, has had a low opening with just Rs51 lakh nett, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The Shabbir Khan film needs to improve over the weekend to stand any chance of recovering its investment.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood film Jurassic Park Dominion (2022) enjoyed a good first week with collections of Rs48 crore nett in India, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com. The previous film in the franchise Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) had collected Rs52 crore nett in its first week.
With Nikamma seeing a poor response, the Hollywood film could pick up over the weekend and even reach Rs70 crore nett in its second week.
The other release completing a week is Janhit Mein Jaari (2022), starring Nushrratt Bharuccha, which only managed to collect a disappointing Rs3.25 crore nett, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. If it manages to make its presence felt in the second week, it could reach around Rs5 crore nett as its lifetime collection.
However, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022), starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, is sitting pretty as it enters its fifth week. On its fifth Friday in theatres the film earned Rs1 crore nett, taking its total collection at the domestic box office to Rs173.50 crore nett, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film is expected to be streamed on Netflix from tomorrow, so that could affect its box office eventually.
Finally, Samrat Prithviraj (2022), starring Akshay Kumar, saw a massive drop of 80% in its second week and earned only Rs10.75 crore nett plus, taking its overall collection to nearly Rs66 crore nett, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. The period film, made on a budget of over Rs200 crore, has done better than the leading man's previous release Bachchhan Paandey (2022), but it is dismal showing for Yash Raj Films, which has recorded its third flop in a row.
