HIT: The First Case teaser – Rajkummar Rao volunteers for a tough mission

The introductory video of the protagonist of Vikram in HIT: The First Case was as good as a teaser. The official teaser of the film looks more like a trailer. But this isn’t a problem because the footage has enough in it to make you anticipate this crime thriller.

HIT (homicide intervention team) is about the organization’s investigative officer Vikram (Rajkummar Rao). His psychological condition isn’t ideal as he suffers from depression and panic attacks. But, as surprising as it may sound, his work as a homicide officer helps him keep sane. 

A young girl named Preeti goes missing after her car breaks down in the middle of the highway. Her parents are, obviously, worried. Vikram volunteers to take up the case as he has a hunch. His senior (Dalip Tahil) hesitantly gives his go-ahead. From here on, Vikram goes on a new journey, which certainly isn’t pleasant. 

HIT is an edge-of-the-seat thriller combined with an emotional drama. The execution appears impressive, just like Rao’s performance. Sanya Malhotra, who plays Rao's love interest, has minimum screen time. For an investigative thriller, it is surprising to see a lot of action and stunts in the promo. 

It will be interesting to see what all the makers would show in the trailer when it comes out. 

The film is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the same name that was released in 2020. The film has been directed by Dr Sailesh Kolanu who also helmed the original. 

HIT: The First Case will be released in theatres on 15 July.
